Horse North Rescue Looking to Build New Facility to Save More Horses

Horse North Rescue, an equine rescue in Northern Lower Michigan, has saved more than 300 horses since it was founded in 2005, only 16 years ago. 

But no matter how many success stories there are, rescuers always think about the ones who aren’t saved. They always want to save more.

Horse North Rescue wants to make sure that they are equipped to save more horses in the future and have a more secure future.

Currently, the rescue resides on the property of a former board member but the rescue organization is looking to raise about $800,000 with their fundraiser so the group can have their own rescue location and facilities. 

They are looking for 20 flat and open acres with a water and electric supply and fencing for multiple paddocks and pastures. They will need a six-stall barn with medical, feed, tack and tool areas as well as a hay barn and tractor plus a covered arena for rehab and training.
