Man on Probation for Animal Cruelty, Charged with Leaving Puppy in Hot Car in Traverse City

A 25-year-old man, who is already on probation for an animal cruelty case in Manistee County, is now being accused of leaving his puppy in a hot car for hours in Traverse City. Darrin Pickard Jr. was charged with one count of animal cruelty on Friday. The Traverse City Police Department tells us they received a call around 3:24 p.m. on May 11 for a dog in distress in a vehicle. The dog was in the parking lot at Munson Medical Center.
