Michigan’s next fundraising license plate for vehicles could be a cause for some paws. The legislation introduced in the state House of Representatives Feb. 10 by Rep. Charles Brunner, D-Bay City, would create a license plate that raises money for no-kill shelters in the state. The idea came from Dee Bishop, former president of the Humane Society of Bay County, said Humane Society board member Marykay Plotnik. She presented the idea to Brunner, and “he just rallied for it,” Plotnik said. For more on the story, click here.
