Pet sitting and dog walking seems like the dream job to many pet lovers. Although there is a lot of scheduling and work involved, the perks are immeasurable – benefits like getting puppy kisses and giving belly rubs to cute kitties. Ann McCain, new owner of 45th Parallel Pet Services, is looking forward to both the challenges and the benefits of the job. Previous owner, Laurie Conney, is moving to New York and McCain will be the new face of the company.
45th Parallel Pet Services provides all season care for dogs, cats and other pets in the Leelanau Peninsula and Grand Traverse County region. The company is dedicated to providing a healthy, active outlet for pets – daily visits when you are busy and also overnight/long term care is provided as an option to your pet instead of being in a kennel when you are away.
McCain is from South Bend, Indiana and spent four years in a cats-only clinic before working for nine years at a complete companion animal hospital. After that, she moved to Suttons Bay in April of 2013. She’s worked in all areas of the practice and specialized in assisting the Veterinarians and Vet Techs in all areas of animal care. She’s handled everything from snakes to birds – from Bengal cats to Boxers. She loves the saying, “working with animals is not what I do, it’s who I am.”
McCain lives with five cats and two dogs who are loved dearly. She’s ready to share the love with the pets in Leelanau County and is very excited to meet her new clients. She says, “I’m ready to walk the dogs and spoil toe cats in this beautiful part of the country.”
