Last year, a bill was introduced in Lansing that would rein in irresponsible pet breeders to hopefully improve conditions for animals and pet buyers. But that bill died in the Senate during a lame-duck session. It’s a new year, and Rep. Mike McCready, R-Bloomfield Hills, is giving the effort another go by introducing the Large Scale Commercial Dog Breeder Act, also known as House bill 4898, sponsored by the Michigan Humane Society.
