Annual Winter Dog Walk to Benefit No Unwanted Pets

In celebration of Professional Pet Sitters Week (March 2-8), Pet Sitters Network North (PSNN) hosts its second annual community Winter Dog Walk on Saturday, March 8th, 1:00 pm at the Civic Center, Traverse City, starting off near the basketball courts.

Monetary donations will be collected for the No Unwanted Pets: Spay/Neuter Coalition of Grand Traverse Area. The fun afternoon will include music, prizes, and an after-walk dog treat! Plus, each registrant will receive a goody bag packed with specials and information for you and your
four-legged friend(s).

It’s been a long winter for all. Take this opportunity to get out and walk the Civic Center one-mile loop with your “best friend” and help PSNN raise money for and awareness of No Unwanted Pets. PSNN will match the first $200 in donations received.

No Unwanted Pets, a 501c3 non-profit organization, formed to educate, encourage, and provide low cost options for spay/neuter in the greater Grand Traverse area to reduce the pain and suffering of dogs and cats due to devastating overpopulation issues. No Unwanted Pets has targeted February 2014 to roll out a spay/neuter program that will help those in our community on limited incomes.

Professional Pet Sitters Week is an international campaign seeking to educate pet owners about the advantages of in-home care for their pets. For pet owners, pet sitting provides a unique and beneficial alternative to boarding facilities or to having to rely on family and neighbors. Pet sitting goes beyond simply feeding and caring for pets.  In addition to basic pet care, professional pet-sitting services often offer dog walking/running, care of special needs pets, pet transportation services, and overnight stays. Members of Pet Sitters Network North provide pet owners peace of mind by offering personalized pet-care services to meet your pet’s specific needs.  Plus, professional pet sitters are insured and often have special skills, training and expertise.

“Members of PSNN continually strive to provide the best quality service to our pet-owning clients,” notes Marsha Wheaton, who founded PSNN in 2006. “We believe it’s important to see the industry we love be recognized on a global scale.”
