It was a beautiful 90 degree day at the Acme Fall Fest on Saturday, September 28th at Flintfields in Williamsburg, home of the Horse Shows by the Bays. The pet adoption event was very busy with dogs and cats in all colors, shapes and sizes. In all, 14 dogs and four cats were adopted that day and others had interested people who might follow up on a future adoption.

These two Missaukee County dogs were adopted together. They came from a bad situation, a home with too many dogs. After the owner was taken to a nursing home, Missaukee took in seven of her dogs. These two will now have a loving home where they will get a lot of attention. Missaukee County Humane still has one dog left from the rescue named Bear.

Does anyone know how many total pets were available for adoption at this event? Thank you:)

No, I can’t answer that. Everyone brings a different amount and at any given time, people are walking dogs or holding them… not easy to get an accurate count. I would guess though that most groups bring 5-12 animals each.
