Proceeds from the Second Annual Pet Picture Day, sponsored by Oakwood Pet Memorial Center in Maple City, will be donated to the Military Working Dog Team Support Association, a group organized solely to benefit both active and retired military working dogs.
“It’s a great opportunity to get a photo of your pet – or pets – and help out an organization that is dedicated to helping an often unsung group of heroes, military working dogs,” says Oakwood Memorial Pet Center co-owner Mike DePuy. “For just $25, all of which will go to MWDTSA, you’ll get a professional quality picture of your pet. Any and all pets are welcome.”Pet Picture Day will run from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 12 at Oakwood’s facility, located at 1631 W. Burdickville Road in Maple City. Jeff Rabidoux of Life on the 45th Parallel Photography will take the pet photos. Each attendee’s pet parents will get a digital copy of their picture that day. Pet parents will also get a hard copy which will be printed and mailed to them.
In addition to the opportunity to have their pets photographed, attendees will also be able to meet and learn from businesses that specialize in products for pets.
Last year’s Pet Picture Day attracted numerous pets and their owners to Oakwood Pet Memorial Center. Pet Picture Day is being planned in coordination with Allison Merrill of Sun Dog Kennels in Bingham Township who is active with MWDTSA.
For the safety of all pets at the event, please bring your pets on a leash, in a carrier or otherwise have them under control (no holding in the arms, please).
