Recycled “Rescue Bags” for Sale to Raise Money for Homeless Animals

Handds to the Rescue has come up with a great new fundraising idea – recycling pet food bags and making them into totes. They call them “Rescue Bags” and they were on display recently at Bark at the Park in Traverse City. You can imagine that Handds always has plenty of dog food bags on hand from feeding their rescue animals. They decided they could use those, as well as kitty food bags and birdfood bags, and turn them into cool totes to sell to benefit their rescue animals!

They are priced based on size and some are lined and others are unlined. They vary from $10 to $18 and the proceeds go to help the animals they take care of in their rescue organization. You can also “special order” a bag if you have your own pet food bag that you want made into a tote. Please contact Dorothy DeCoeur for more information at 409-4833 or handds09@yahoo.com.

I’ve been saving two bags for you. How do I get them to you?

Saving two bags for Handds to make Rescue bags? You could drop them off at Tractor Supply Plus near Chums Corners on Saturday. That’s where they do their adoptions.

You had this on your FB site a while ago, so I saved them but forgot which organization it was. I work retail, work until 6pm Saturday so need a plan B. BTW, my husband works in sales at Britten Banners, and they make recycled bags out of old banner material. Also, BTW, our band (Mark Sanders Band) will be at Boones Long Lake Inn this Sunday 6-9. C’mon out!
I live off Veterans Dr. and 16th St. I have a porch “bucket” I can leave the bags in if anyone can swing by. I use the porch bucket all the time for drop off/pick up. Would that work? Anyone go near here?

It is Handds that is doing it. They have adoptions at the Tractor Supply by Chums Corners on Saturdays. You can always drop off bags to me at The Copy Shop if you want and I can get the bags to them eventually.
