Great Lakes Pet Memorial & Crematory
The grand opening of Traverse City’s first dog park took place last Saturday and was a Barkin’ good time for everyone involved! It is estimated that over 250 people attended the grand opening celebration of the dog park. There were lots of great vendors, a ribbon cutting, and a Halloween costume contest!
Both small and large dogs attended the Grand Opening and it was obvious that the Park is a HUGE success already. It is a delightful sight to see man’s best friends enjoying themselves! We are truly proud of the great work of so many remarkable people like Jami Moore, Ginger Schultz, Gary Howe, TC Parks and Recreation, and many others that saw the project through! Several local businesses and individuals donated their time and money to help make this park a reality. A huge donor banner was unveiled at the Grand Opening as a thank you!
Several vendors were on site to show their support for the park: D.O.G. Bakery, WKLT, Banfield “The Pet Hospital”, Dog Dreams Inn, Great Lakes Pet Memorial & Crematory, KidzArt Northwood Animal Hospital, House of Doggs, Square Deal Country Store, Doggie Stylez, Invisible Fence, Events to Remember, Little Bohemia, Pine Meadows Dog Training,5K9 Premium Dog Running & more.
Project coordinator Jami Moore said, “It was a great afternoon of celebrating dogs, dog lovers and park supporters. This park was a community effort with volunteers, donors, businesses and the City of Traverse City coming together to build a dog park. I’d like to thank everyone who has been part of this project and helped to make the park a reality. We could not have built the park without all the support we received.”
